# International deposit

> Receive US Dollars by international wire over SWIFT and reconcile inbound funds from the transaction's fiat details.

Senders outside the United States can fund your USD wallet by international wire over SWIFT. Deposits settle without quorum and carry no receiver-side fee. For the shared model, see [Deposit](/knowledge-base/platform/developers/move-money/deposit).

As with a domestic wire, an international deposit doesn't go through deposit attribution. The sender's bank details arrive on the transaction itself, so you reconcile inbound funds directly from `GET /v2/transactions`.

## SWIFT/BIC code

Your USD wallet's wire instructions include a SWIFT/BIC (Bank Identifier Code) for international wires. A SWIFT/BIC identifies a specific bank rather than an individual account, and routes an international wire to the correct bank.

Once you enroll in the [USD Interest Program](/knowledge-base/platform/developers/move-money/deposit/usd-interest), BNY serves as the primary bank for deposits. BNY is a SWIFT member, so senders can wire funds over SWIFT without an intermediary bank. Your wallet's deposit instructions update to reflect BNY details, and previous instructions continue to operate.

## Receive and reconcile an international wire

<Steps>
  <Step title="Get or create your USD wallet">
    A vault doesn't get a USD wallet automatically when it's created. If it doesn't have one yet, create it with `POST /v2/vaults/{vaultId}/wallets`—see [Create a wallet and address](/knowledge-base/platform/developers/move-money/deposit#create-a-wallet-and-address).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Get your deposit instructions">
    Retrieve the bank wire details for your USD wallet from the web dashboard, or programmatically with [`GET /v2/wallets/{walletId}`](/knowledge-base/api-reference/v2/wallets/wallet-details-for-a-wallet). Share the SWIFT/BIC code and account details with the sender.

    ```bash theme={null}
    curl --request GET \
      --url https://api.anchorage-staging.com/v2/wallets/{walletId} \
      --header 'Api-Access-Key: {API key}' \
      --header 'accept: application/json'
    ```

    The `depositInstruction` object in the response carries the wire details, including `beneficiaryName`, `beneficiaryAccountNumber`, `bankName`, and `bankSwiftCode`. Reading a wallet requires the `Read vault activity` permission.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Receive the deposit.attributed webhook">
    Once the funds settle, a `deposit.attributed` webhook fires with the `transactionId`. USD deposits don't require attribution, so `deposit.pending-attribution` never fires for fiat. See [Webhooks](/knowledge-base/platform/developers/webhooks/webhooks-overview).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Read the deposit with GET /v2/transactions">
    Fetch the transaction and reconcile the funds against your ledger using the `fiatDetails` object. The response shape matches a domestic wire—see [Domestic deposit](/knowledge-base/platform/developers/move-money/deposit/wire/domestic#reconcile-from-fiatdetails) for an example payload and field reference.
  </Step>
</Steps>
