# USD at Anchorage Digital Singapore

> Hold, receive, and send USD as an Anchorage Digital Singapore client, and understand how it differs from USD at Anchorage Digital Bank.

If your organization is a client of Anchorage Digital Singapore (ADS), you can hold USD alongside your digital assets and move it by international wire over SWIFT. USD held by ADS is kept at Standard Chartered in Singapore, so a few things work differently than they do for Anchorage Digital Bank clients. This page covers those differences—for the shared flows, see [USD deposits](/knowledge-base/platform/users/usd-deposits) and [USD withdrawals](/knowledge-base/platform/users/usd-withdrawals).

## How it compares to Anchorage Digital Bank

The web dashboard, iOS app, and API work the same way for both entities. The table shows where the experience differs.

| | Anchorage Digital Bank | Anchorage Digital Singapore |
| :- | :- | :- |
| Regulator | Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) | Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) |
| Banking partner | BNY, Customers Bank, and Cross River Bank | Standard Chartered |
| Deposit rails | Domestic (Fedwire) and international (SWIFT) wires | International (SWIFT) wires |
| Withdrawal rails | Domestic and international wires | International (SWIFT) wires |
| Wire instructions | US account and routing number, plus SWIFT/BIC | SWIFT/BIC and an account in your organization's name |
| Wire cut-off | 5:00 PM ET (BNY and Customers Bank), 3:00 PM ET (Cross River Bank) | 11:00 PM Singapore time (SGT) |
| Interest on USD | Available through the USD Interest Program | Not offered |

ADS wallets hold USD only. Other currencies, including SGD, aren't supported today.

## Creating a USD wallet

Go to the desired vault, select **Deposit**, then select **USD** as the asset type. As with Anchorage Digital Bank, each vault can hold one USD wallet, and creating it doesn't require quorum or Anchorage Digital approval.

The wallet appears in your vault right away, but its wire instructions take about 30 minutes to become available. During that time, Standard Chartered sets up a **named virtual account** for the wallet—an account number in your organization's own name under the ADS account at Standard Chartered.

If you open the deposit instructions before setup finishes, you'll see a message that the wallet is still being set up. Come back after 30 minutes.

<Note>
  If your wire instructions still aren't available an hour after you created the wallet, contact Anchorage Digital Support or your relationship manager.
</Note>

## Receiving USD

Once available, your wallet's wire instructions include Standard Chartered's SWIFT/BIC, the bank's address, and an account number unique to your wallet, with your organization as the account name. Share these details with the sending party. You can also download the instructions as a PDF.

Because the account is in your name, incoming wires are credited to your wallet automatically—there's no trusted source or attribution step, and no memo is required.

* Senders must send an **international USD wire over SWIFT**. ADS wallets have no US account or routing number, so Fedwire and ACH payments can't reach them.
* Counterparties that bank with Standard Chartered can send USD to your wallet at any hour, including weekends and holidays.
* International wires can take more than one business day to arrive, depending on the sending bank and any intermediaries.

Deposits appear in your **Activity feed**, statements, user-generated reports, and webhooks like any other USD deposit.

## Sending USD

Sending USD from an ADS wallet follows the same two steps as at Anchorage Digital Bank: add the recipient's bank account as a trusted destination, then initiate a withdrawal from your USD wallet. See [USD withdrawals](/knowledge-base/platform/users/usd-withdrawals) for the full procedure. Two things differ:

* **Trusted destinations are international only.** The **Domestic** option (US account and routing number) isn't available to ADS organizations, even for recipients in the United States.
* **Wires are processed between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM Singapore time (SGT).** A withdrawal that completes approval after 11:00 PM SGT is sent in the next processing window.

Withdrawals to counterparties that bank with Standard Chartered can settle at any hour, including weekends and holidays. Other international wires can take more than one business day to reach the beneficiary.

## Moving USD between Anchorage Digital Singapore and Anchorage Digital Bank

USD can't move directly between an ADS organization and an Anchorage Digital Bank organization, in either direction. This applies to internal transfers, withdrawals to a wallet in the other entity, and USD legs of [Atlas](/knowledge-base/platform/users/atlas-network) settlements. Atlas USD settlement for ADS clients is available with other ADS clients only.

The two entities are separate legal entities and hold client funds at different banks, so a transfer between them would have to settle by international wire rather than instantly. Any attempt is rejected when you submit it.

To send USD to an organization at the other entity, add that organization's USD wallet wire instructions as a trusted destination and send a wire. The funds arrive as a normal deposit on the other side.

USD transfers between two ADS organizations, and between two Anchorage Digital Bank organizations, work as usual.

## Interest on USD balances

Interest isn't offered on USD held at ADS. As a Major Payment Institution licensed by MAS, ADS isn't permitted to pass on yield to clients, so the [USD Interest Program](/knowledge-base/platform/users/usd-interest) applies to Anchorage Digital Bank clients only.

## How your USD is held

USD held on your behalf by Anchorage Digital Singapore is kept at Standard Chartered, a licensed sub-custodian, in a segregated and safeguarded trust account. Your wire instructions reference a virtual account in your organization's name under that trust account.

<Note>
  Anchorage Digital Singapore isn't a bank and isn't a member of the Singapore Deposit Insurance Scheme, so these funds aren't covered by deposit insurance. If the safeguarding bank became insolvent, you might not be able to fully recover the funds held in the trust account.
