# AML program

> What an anti-money laundering program includes, and the questionnaire template to complete if your application or review asks for one.

## What is an AML program?

An anti-money laundering (AML) program is designed to ensure ongoing compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and its regulations. It includes:

* **Written policies and procedures:** implemented to maintain compliance with relevant AML laws and regulations.
* **Suspicious activity reporting:** mechanisms to detect and report suspicious activity.
* **Sanctions screening:** regular checks of customers and transactions against OFAC sanctions lists and Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs).
* **Independent testing:** periodic reviews to ensure the program's effectiveness.
* **Designated personnel:** individuals appointed to manage and monitor the program.
* **AML and sanctions training:** ongoing education for relevant staff.
* **Customer due diligence:** procedures to understand and monitor customer relationships and transactions, including updates on beneficial ownership.
* **Record retention:** processes to retain necessary documentation.

## AML questionnaire

If your application or review asks for an AML questionnaire, download the template, complete it, and upload the completed file to the question that asks for it.

There are two versions of the questionnaire. Use the one for the Anchorage Digital entity you're onboarding with.
