ACH is in development. The API endpoints and webhooks on this page are provided for reference and are subject to change. Reach out to your relationship manager for beta access. See USD rails.
An ACH debit, also called an unoriginated debit or pull, moves USD out of your USD wallet when an outside party pulls the funds over the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network. You don’t start each payment; the outside party does. To send funds out yourself instead, see ACH credit transfer. Common uses include:
  • Payroll providers collecting payroll funding
  • Tax payments to the IRS
  • Recurring vendor payments

Set up ACH debit transfers

1

Contact your relationship manager

Reach out to your relationship manager to set up ACH debit transfers as a platform. For how platforms structure accounts for their own clients, see B2B2X.
2

Track debits

Subscribe to the deposit.attributed webhook. See Webhooks. You can also poll GET /v2/transactions, filtering on type ACH and direction debit out.
3

File returns programmatically

To return a debit, call POST /ach-return. This endpoint is in development. If you’re registered as a platform that runs ACH debits for your clients, you’re responsible for filing returns on their behalf. In that setup, Anchorage Digital doesn’t file any returns automatically. The deadline to file a return depends on the ACH return code, ranging from 2 banking days for standard technical issues to 60 calendar days. The endpoint automatically rejects late or duplicate returns.
